ART IS LIFE
Susie Dove’s work resonates deeply with the healing power of nature and the beauty of the human form. Her diverse artistic practice spans multiple mediums, including oils, acrylics, and pastels. Susie’s work crosses a broad spectrum of genres, from expressive nudes and serene landscapes to intimate portraits and visionary inspirations.
Each piece reflects our profound connection to nature, capturing its ability to uplift and heal the human spirit. Her work invites viewers to experience the world through innocent eyes, where every stroke of paint or line of pastel conveys a deep sense of peace and wonder. Driven by a love for both nature and art, Susie’s creations are a testament to the beauty that surrounds us.
Growing up in an artistic home under the guidance of her artist father, Susie was immersed in creativity from an early age. This nurturing environment fostered her passion for art, leading her to graduate from the School of Contemporary Art in 2000.
Susie regularly kayaks on the Brunswick river with her partner, swims regularly in the ocean at Brunswick Heads, Belongil and Byron Bay and finds nature an endless source of visual delight, drawing much of her inspiration from the ocean environment and being in nature. Her latest passion is taking early winter morning swims with her GoPro capturing visuals to paint later in the studio.
Susie lives with her daughter Delphine, two rescue Pom-chi’s Belle and Lola and a peach face called Evan in Mullumbimby Northern NSW.
She is currently working from her home studio in Mullumbimby. She is working towards her first solo exhibition in 20 years early next year.
